Why homogenized colour is worth paying for
Post-consumer repro — PCR — is resin made from film that already did its first job and came back through the recycling stream. Mixed-colour post-consumer film is the largest and cheapest part of that stream, and it is also the hardest to run, because unblended colour recyclate arrives looking like whatever went into the bale that week.
That is the problem homogenizing solves. We sort the incoming film, blend it to a fixed recipe, and melt-homogenize it during compounding, so what you receive is one consistent shade rather than a speckled mix. It also evens out melt behaviour across the lot, which is what keeps film gauge and line speed steady when you push recycled content up. If you have been burned by colour drift between loads of recycled resin, this is the difference.
How we make it
Mixed-colour post-consumer film is sorted, blended to a fixed recipe, and melt-homogenized during compounding. Each lot leaves the line a single uniform shade rather than the variable, speckled look of unblended colour recyclate.
The same dual-stage extrusion, laser filtration, and dual vacuum degassing used on our clear grade applies here, so contamination, moisture, and volatiles come out of the melt before the die. Every lot is sampled and MFI-verified before it ships.

What LDPE Color Homogenized PCR looks like

Why buy from us
We are the processor
Not a broker. We run our own line in Langley, BC, so you are buying
from the people who made the pellet and can tell you exactly how it was made.
Samples before orders
Every grade goes out as a free sample first. Run it on your line and judge it on what it
does, not on a spec sheet.
Volume you can plan around
Up to 620,000 lbs a month across our four grades, shipped across Canada and into the
United States in gaylords or 1,000 kg bulk bags.
LDPE Color Homogenized PCR questions
- What does homogenized mean in recycled resin?
- It means the incoming material is blended to a fixed recipe and melt-mixed during compounding, so the finished pellet is one consistent colour and melt behaviour across the whole lot — instead of varying with whatever feedstock arrived that week.
- What is the difference between PCR and PIR?
- PCR is post-consumer repro, recovered after consumer use. PIR is post-industrial repro, made from clean factory scrap and off-spec rolls. PCR is what counts toward recycled-content targets; PIR is cleaner to run. We produce both in clear and colour.
- Can you match a specific colour?
- We produce dark custom colours to order. Send us the target and your monthly volume and we will tell you what is realistic.
- Can I get a sample before ordering?
- Yes, samples are free. Run it on your own line before you commit to anything.
- How much can you supply per month?
- 160,000 lbs a month of colour PCR, from our plant in Langley, BC.
